Occupational rehabilitation is aimed at the restoration of the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities required for work after injury, surgery, or chronic illness. Interventions are work conditioning, task-specific training, ergonomics, and vocational counseling. Effective integration between physiatrists, occupational therapists, and employers provides safe and effective return-to-work practices.
